We spontaneously decided this morning to get out of the city and go hiking. The weather was beautiful, it was warm and sunny.
We picked an area close in the Franconian Switzerland so it was only 30 minutes drive.
We wanted to do the big round, 7.5 km, but we got off the trail by mistake at one point and took a shortcut but then found our way back again later.
It was nice, quiet and cool in the forrest. It was the best part. Even though I was worried that we might meet some animal on the way (there are snakes ๐ฆ ) but luckily we didn’t.
Halfway on the trail I slipped on some tiny rocks and twisted my ankle (I didn’t have my hiking shoes on, lesson learned ๐ฆ ) so we took a small break but then kept going because even though it hurt a bit I could still walk and we were in the middle of nowhere anyway.
After a total of 2 hours and 5 km we finally made it back and went straight to the nearest restaurant for a cold Radler and some food.
I chose the fried trout, I normally eat only filet because I hate to pick out the bones but I made an exception this time. It was delicious!
We bought cherries and strawberries from the locals and headed home for some relaxation.
I am icing my foot as we speak and I have put Voltaren gel on it. It hurts when I step on the foot but it isn’t swollen so I hope it will be ok in a day or two.
