As you probably already know, I received my new iPhone yesterday. ๐
After I unpacked it and had the Micro SIM card ready, I turned the phone in my hands on every sides wondering where to insert the SIM card? I was once again really grateful to have Google because this post eventually helped: How to insert SIM card in iPhone 4
So I had the card now in the phone and switched it on, but the new number wasnโt activated yet. I called the Customer Service and they promised that it will be in 2 hours. Unfortunately, as I turned on the phone in the evening and today in the morning, I still had no network and could only dial emergency calls.
I complained to the Customer Service but the lady could only confirm that the number is already working and she cannot do anything else. When my boyfriend saw me so sad, he offered to help me and started reading the instructions that came in the box with the phone. I only flipped through it yesterday checking the pictures, like I usually do, but on the first page it writes to install iTunes on a PC and then connect the iPhone to the PC via USB. Because we had no better idea, I did as written and SURPRISE! It works! I was feeling pretty dumb at that moment. (Note to myself: always read the manual!!!)
I still cannot comprehend why a phone would need a software installed on a PC and then connected via USB for the network to start working but itโs Apple. They do everything differently.
I installed TweetDeck and Foursquare which Iโm planning to use frequently but this weekend I will be looking at other apps too.
Plus I definitely need a nice cute girly case for it. It just looks so pretty that I want to protect it. I feel like Gollum with the ring from The Lord of the Rings:
So bright… so beautiful… ah, Precious. Myyy PRECIOUSSS!
Unfortunately the iPhone 4 Case Program is only for purchases made until September 30. I placed the order in August but the purchase date on the invoice appears to be October 4. No idea why. But the bottom line is that I wonโt get any free bumper so Iโll have to buy one in the Apple Store this weekend.
This touch-screen smart phone business is a whole new experience to me but Iโm sure that Iโll get used to it in no time. ๐
