It’s weekend again so that means that we are going on a spontaneous day trip again. We chose Lauf an der Pegnitz because we were hungry and it is only 15 minutes by train.
I was positively surprised by this small city, the city center is typical Franconian. The marketplace is unfortunately used as a parking lot so it kind of ruins its charm. There was a small market and the restaurants, cafes and ice cream places were full. Nevertheless there weren’t too many people so we could enjoy it. Normally the people in Lauf go shopping to the bigger city nearby so Saturday is a good time to visit Lauf. ๐
The weather was perfect, the sun was shining so we walked around before returning to the restaurant that we saw at the mill along the water. It’s important to know that most of the restaurants don’t serve warm meals between 14 and 17 o’clock and even close during this time so we were very lucky to get there on time for some food.
After walking on the other side of the Pegnitz, we decided to take another break to have some ice cream and a coffee before returning home.
All in all, it was a great day in a surprisingly beautiful small town which is nearby so we will visit more often.
