We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend in Prague. We were in Prague 5 years ago for the first time and it was about time that we visit this beautiful city again. We will be surely back again soon. After all it is only a 3 hour drive. 🙂
Where to stay
This is our second time in Prague and we decided to stay at the same hotel like for the first time. I highly recommend Hotel Sax. It is located very close to the old town and the interior is interesting, to say the least. The only minus point is the parking.
What to do
Take a stroll in the beautiful old town of Prague
Cross the famous Charles Bridge
Visit the Castle of Prague
Take a boat ride
Visit the park and the palace of the Senate
We accidentally discovered the gorgeous park and palace of the Senate as we were strolling along and we saw a bunch of people enter through a narrow door that took us to this impressive park. Admittance to the park and palace is free.
Watch a movie at Cinema City
The movies are in English with subtitle.
Where to eat
Hard Rock Cafe
I am a big fan so I check if there is a Café everywhere I travel. This is probably the biggest that I have seen so far. There is a terrace outside on the street but I recommend sitting inside, the atmosphere is amazing. Don’t forget to check out the souvenir shop, I always grab a few t-shirts. 😉
Meat & Greet Burger
This little hidden gem is in a side street but it was full and the burgers are delicious.
Chimney cake
Even though this cake is originally from Transylvania, it is quite popular in Prague. Now newly it is served filled with ice cream. It is a must, although I personally recommend having the original.
Italian Gelato at Amorino
Delicious artisanal ice cream finely shaped into a flower.
