I had the opportunity last weekend to go to a free Fitness Festival. I know this gym quite well, I played badminton for years there and I was super excited to go back and try some Les Mills fitness classes.
The program included all and any kind of fitness classes from Les Mills and I had a hard time to decide which ones I want to try because I wanted to do all. ๐
The classes were in two rooms at the same time so I had to make a compromise and I decided to miss the Les Mills Grit classes.
LMI Step
I arrived shortly before 13 o’clock, changed into my workout gear and was ready for some step aerobics.
Each class was led by 3-4 trainers, each trainer doing 2 tracks. I loved the rooms where the classes were taking place, the trainers were on the stage so everyone could see them well and they wore microphones so we could hear them well.
It’s been a long time since my last step aerobic class but it was like riding a bike, I quickly got the hang of it, learned all the moves and enjoyed it a lot. My quads were really burning at the end. The atmosphere was amazing!
BodyBalance
Next up was BodyBalance, a combination of tai chi, yoga and pilates. It was a great class after the high intensity step aerobic so I could get my heart rate down. I was completely relaxed and calm afterwards. I loved it so much.
BodyPump
Next I moved to the big room for BodyPump. A lot of people came to this class and I heard a lot of praises on social media so I was very excited to finally try it out. I decided to not overdo it with the weights and just try to keep up with the trainers. This class was intense but so so good. My muscles were burning!
At this point I was done. 1,3K burned calories in 3,5 hours. ๐
Next classes were BodyAttack, BodyCombat and BodyJam and I was really sad to miss them but I was so tired. I watched BodyAttack for a few minutes and it looked like so much fun. I hope I get the chance to try them out soon.
I showered, drank my protein shake and ate a protein bar.
I am surprised how well I survived these fitness classes. The big guy with huge muscles behind me at Body Pump was really struggling. I think I have the fitness programs BBG, Alexa Jean Fitness and Ashy Bines Booty Challenge to thank. All those burpees and jump lunges and squats were worth it. ๐
