Fitness & Nutrition
The workouts are going great and partly because I am planning them each week but also because I feel super-motivated.
I had two awesome weight training sessions, went also running three times and had a swimming session too.
I did a barbell training session with the toughest trainer at my gym which left me half dead at the end. I did also a Total Body Style class where we just had a ball and a mat, I completely underestimated it because it was more difficult than I thought and my muscles and legs were shaking afterwards.
Running is going kinda rough at the moment, I had a session with the trainer on Thursday in 31 degrees Celsius and he really pushed the group to the maximum so I ended up exhausted and sore for two whole days.
Even though I took a rest day on Friday, I felt it whole weekend as well but went running on both days anyway. Needless to say that these last two running workouts weren’t satisfactory, my legs hurted the entire time and I took way too many walking breaks. Foam roller to the rescue! 😦
I was so happy to go swimming today. It was February when I went last time and unfortunately my swimming performance decreased massively since then. While I could swim 1.5K in 30 minutes three months ago, now I managed only 1K in 35 minutes. I definitely need to work on that!
Nutrition is mostly clean (except for having way too many ice cream) and I am trying to stick to the daily calorie and macro goals. I don’t have enough time to food prep but I did however manage to prepare a delicious stir-fry with chicken breast, sweet potato and spinach on one of the evenings. It was to die for!
It has been a busy week at work with lots of meetings but also fun coding sessions where I just put the headphones on, turned the music loud and did my thing. I also played with Coded UI Tests in Visual Studio and I am still studying for the MCPD upgrade exam, currently learning about Data Access with .Net.
Surface Pro 3 was announced this week and I would love to get my hands on one. I have a Surface Pro 1 but I would definitely upgrade if I get the chance.
I am officially addicted to The Good Wife.
I watched the first season and then accidentally stumbled upon an article on the internet with a very nasty spoiler about the ending of the 5th season. I won’t ruin it for you as well but let’s just say that they pretty much killed off one of the main characters and with that also the storyline that kept me watching this show. 😦
I took a break from the show for a few days but then decided to keep watching because I really love the story, the characters and the actors. But it’s definitely not the same, nwo that I know what will hapen later in the series.
Other than that, I didn’t have much time for anything else. I miss my Xbox and I have so many games I want to play but I simply can’t find the time. I know, I should somehow make the time! 😉
