Rockin’ the Know it. Prove it. Web development challenge

Capture

Well, I did it! I finished the Web Development learning challenge on Microsoft Virtual Academy, as part of Know It. Prove It. tour organised for us, Rock Stars! 🙂

The challenge started in February and lasted for a month but then it was luckily extended till March 25th so that I could complete the last modules on time.

The Web Development learning challenge included the following modules:

  • Developing in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 Jump Start
  • Introduction to jQuery
  • Introduction to ASP.NET MVC
  • Building Responsive UI with Bootstrap

The total time for this challenge was 31.5 hours. That’s over 30 hours of awesome web content! I particularly liked the HTML5 and Bootstrap modules but that’s because I am already familiar with jQuery and ASP.NET MVC.

This challenge was exactly what I needed for my next certification exam to get to the next level to become a certified as MCSD: Web Applications. I want to take this exam soon, most probably before the end of May because we get a free Second Shot if we take an exam by 31 May 2015. I hope I won’t be needing the second shot but it’s good to have a backup, just in case.

Some pretty awesome news has been released a couple of weeks ago in this post and I am so excited.

The KiPi icons for each completed challenge will be displayed in the Born to Learn profile. I don’t see mine yet but I hope it will show up soon. Also a certificate will be available on the MVA Dashboard for completing a challenge, additionally to the certificates for each module.

The coolest news is however that KiPi is giving away 5 tickets to the Build conference to those who have completed at least one challenge. Here is what we need to do. It would be so amazing if I would win a ticket. *fingers crossed*

But KiPi is not over yet though and I am so glad! It looks like the tour will be reopened in April with a special edition around two of the most epic conferences: Build and Ignite. I am so looking forward to it!
